Major Raid at Foote St and Wesley Ave

On March 3rd, 2011 at least 50 APD officers performed a major raid on a house on Foote St.  Copwatch had observed police harassment at this location previously.  Police were from Zone 6 as well as REDDOG, a unit notorious for aggressive paramilitary-style tactics.  Some officers wore ski masks and held automatic weapons.

In addition to raiding the house, officers swept the area, detaining 15-20 individuals nearby and holding them in handcuffs.  The detainees were searched, questioned, and held for at least two hours before being released without charges.  Several of the detained individuals were arrested, reportedly for drug possession, but no evidence of illegal activity was found in the house.
